About Our Inception
In April 2019, a pivotal meeting took place between influential representatives from Kuwait’s private and public sectors. Their shared vision was to explore ideas that could inspire and foster positive change for women’s employment and leadership in Kuwait’s private sector. As a result of this thought-provoking gathering, a powerful alliance of dignitaries, government officials, and private sector Chairs, CEOs, and C-level executives agreed to join forces, with the ultimate goal of forming a shared platform dedicated to achieving gender-smart goals. This initial spark ignited the journey that led to the creation of the Kuwait Women’s Economic Empowerment Platform (KWEEP).
After years of dedicated planning and collaboration, KWEEP was officially announced to the public on June 5, 2022, at the United Nations House Kuwait. Established as an innovative and pioneering initiative, the Platform aims to support the growth and advancement of women in the workplace by promoting the adoption of real and sustainable policies focused on various aspects of women’s empowerment in the private sector. With a particular emphasis on recruitment, retention, and leadership in Kuwait’s private sector, KWEEP is committed to fostering a more inclusive and diverse professional landscape in the country.
