In November 2016, the Safirah Company for Social Responsibility organized the ‘Successful Women Common Factors Conference (Najiha 1)’, under the patronage and attendance of Mrs. Hind Al-Subaih, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning Affairs, and Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the State Ministry for Youth Affairs, sponsored by several government and private state institutions, including the State Ministry for Youth Affairs and Kuwait Airways.

This conference was based on a study conducted by the Safirah team, which was conducted with eight successful Kuwaiti women in various professional sectors to identify the key factors contributing to their success. The women who participated in the study and the conference are:

1. Mrs. Rasha Al-Roumi – Civil Aviation sector, the first woman to hold the position of Chairperson of Kuwait Airways.
2. Mrs. Majida Al-Yatama – Health sector, a businesswoman and consultant in gynecology and obstetrics.
3. Mrs. Hajar Al-Hajri – Public Prosecution sector, the first Kuwaiti woman to head a police center.
4. Mrs. Balsam Al-Ayoub – Sports sector, an activist and sports champion.
5. Mrs. Maali Al-Asousi – Humanitarian work sector, awarded the title of ‘Maker of Hope for 2017’.
6. Mrs. Hala Al-Tanak – Islamic Banking sector.
7. Mrs. Bashaer Al-Awad – Engineering sector.
8. Mrs. Anwar Al-Ibrahim – Project Management sector.

The conference also featured participants from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, including Mrs. Reem Badran, President of the MENA Businesswomen’s and Professionals Network, and from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Khalid Al-Qaoud, President of the Bahrain Society for Social Responsibility, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Fares, Secretary-General of Kuwait University.

Among the personalities invited to participate in the ‘Najiha 2’ conference are:

1. Mrs. M. Mishaal Al-Shammeri – In the field of Space Science, the first Saudi girl to work in nuclear rocket design and join NASA for space studies, working on developing research in this field at the age of 22.
2. Aisha Al-Mudahka – CEO of Qatar Business Incubator, Qatar.
3. Mrs. Zainab Al-Suwaij – American-Iraqi activist, co-founder and executive director of the American Islamic Congress. She advocates for gender equality, civil and religious rights, and interfaith understanding.
4. Fatima Nabil Al-Qaoud – Pilot Captain, Bahrain.
5. Mrs. Maisaa Al-Houti – Omani diver and underwater photographer, activist in documenting and preserving the marine environment and marine life.
6. Eng. Zainab Al-Qarashi – From Kuwait, Vice President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and President of Engineers Without Borders.
7. Mrs. Heba Al-Samt – Director of Digital Media Management for Television and Radio at Dubai Media Incorporated, winner of the WLCA Global Leadership Council Award as the most influential personality in digital media in Asia, representing the Dubai Channels Network and the Global Media Club and ‘Emaratiweet’.
8. Mrs. Huda Al-Janahi – Bahraini who started with a handful of dollars and now owns millions through companies she founded in the shipping and postal sector, spoken about by former U.S. President George W. Bush Jr.
9. Maali Al-Asousi – A humanitarian activist and recipient of the Maker of Hope Award, Kuwait.”
