Kuwait’s Engineer Girls Program

Extending beyond construction, Limak Inşaat looks at its projects as opportunities to invest in the communities in which it operates. The company prioritises creating job opportunities and transferring knowledge, experience, and expertise to the local community as part of its larger regional effort to add permanent value to society.

In Kuwait, Limak is dedicated to enhancing the education and learning opportunities in the fields of construction, engineering, architecture, and project management through the “Kuwait’s Engineer Girls” program. Modelled after Limak Holding’s “Turkey’s Engineer Girls” program launched in 2015, the “Kuwait’s Engineer Girls” is a joint project implemented through a partnership between Kuwait University, Turkey’s Boğaziçi University and Limak Inşaat Kuwait, signed on May 8, 2017.

The Program aims to equip young female engineers with the tools necessary to succeed in the future workplace. Consisting of 12 courses taken over 200 training hours delivered by professors and specialists from Boğaziçi University and Limak Inşaat., upon completion of the Program graduates receive a Business Technology Education Council (BTEC) Management and Leadership certificate recognized in over 100 countries worldwide and 3 Semester Credit Hours from Kuwait University.

To date, the Program has successfully empowered over 175 female engineers in Kuwait, many of whom have secured employment at Limak and other top companies in Kuwait’s public and private sectors. Limak believes that this approach should be a core aspect of any large contractor executing mega national projects in Kuwait.

Upon completion of the program, graduates are awarded a Business Technology Education Council (BTEC) Management and Leadership certificate recognized in over 100 countries, a certificate from Boğaziçi Lifelong Learning Center (BULLC), and a Certificate of Field Training from Kuwait University.
