The ‘Kuwait’s Engineer Girls’ Program Celebrates the Completion of the Third Cohort

The program has successfully trained 90 female Kuwaiti engineers since 2017

Kuwait City, Kuwait – Limak Inşaat Kuwait S.P.C. today celebrated the conclusion of the third generation of its university-level training program for aspiring female engineers, the Kuwait’s Engineer Girls program.

Launched in May 2017, the ‘Kuwait’s Engineer Girls’ is a program by Limak Inşaat Kuwait S.P.C. implemented through a partnership with Kuwait University and Turkey’s Boğaziçi University. The project-based learning program consists of 200 training hours divided into nine modules developed to equip engineering students with the tools necessary to succeed in their future careers.

Program activities included workshops, seminars, field training and site visits to Limak’s projects including the Kuwait International Airport New Terminal II (T2), in addition to a series of courses delivered by professors and specialists from Boğaziçi University and Limak Inşaat. Topics covered over the course of the semester included lessons on organizational behavior, the digital world, business environment, women empowerment, finance models, project planning, new trends in world economics, strategic management, corporate sustainability, and more.

Limak Inşaat Kuwait S.P.C. Country Manager Mr. Kayihan Bagdatli said: “We are pleased to celebrate the conclusion of the third cohort of the Kuwait’s Engineer Girls program and recognize the young engineers for their hard work, dedication and significant achievements. Through this program we aim to help young Kuwaiti engineers with their professional career goals and transform them into capable, qualified individuals prepared to create a positive and long-lasting impact in the world, and today, we celebrate 25 new engineers who are now fully equipped and empowered to do so. We would like to congratulate the remarkable students on their well-deserved recognition and wish them success in their future careers.”

Upon completion of the program, successful participants will receive a Business Technology Education Council (BTEC) Management and Leadership certification recognized in over 100 countries worldwide, a Certificate from Boğaziçi University Lifelong Learning Center (BULLC), and a Certificate of Field Training from Kuwait University.

The first cohort of the program was successfully completed in March 2018 with 24 graduates, and the second cohort was completed in April 2019 with 30 graduates, many of which have accepted job offers at Limak. Classes for the third cohort started on September 15 and concluded on December 7 with 25 graduates.

The Kuwait Program is modelled after a successful program launched by Limak Inşaat in Turkey in 2015, ‘Turkey’s Engineer Girls’.
