Kuwait City, Kuwait — Ms. Fadwa Darwish – Secretary General of the Union of Investment Companies, received Her Excellency Mrs. Heideko Hadzialish – the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and Mr. Khaled Shhwan – the Deputy Resident Representative of the UNDP. The meeting was held on November 22, 2022, at UIC’s headquarters.

This meeting reflects the ongoing efforts and endeavors of the Union to expand its outreach and raise awareness about the pivotal role of member investment companies and the investment sector as a whole. Additionally, it demonstrates UIC’s commitment to collaborating with the UNDP in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of encouraging companies to adopt practices that contribute to integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into their business models, especially concerning principles of women’s empowerment, and achieving gender equality in the workplace.
